Grand Strategy and Global Health

The course is offered in the spring semester and meets once per week 1:30-3:20.  It is currently only open to students in the Global Health Scholars program.

The objective of this course is to build each student’s capacity to effectively integrate and apply principles of grand strategy in order to address large and persistent challenges in global health. By the end of the course, students will have developed or strengthened the capacity to:                       

  • Perform strategic assessment of needs, resources, and constraints in the global health landscape
  • Critically analyze and synthesize diverse forms of data to inform and evaluate strategic responses to global health problems
  • Effectively integrate perspectives of scholars and practitioners
  • Deliver professional briefs and oral presentations for global health audiences
